How abda stores your data
Your data lives on secure servers in the United States. It's encrypted in transit and at rest. Your bank password never touches our servers — Plaid handles that part.
Trusting an app with your money only makes sense if you know how your data is handled. Here's the short version.
Where your data lives
abda's database runs on Supabase, which is built on AWS in the United States. This is a common setup used by many financial apps. Your profile, transactions, and settings all sit there.
How it's protected
- In transit (moving): all traffic between your browser and our servers uses HTTPS — the same encryption your bank uses.
- At rest (sitting): data in the database is encrypted on disk.
- Bank tokens: the special Plaid tokens that let us sync your bank get an extra layer of encryption (AES-256-GCM), so even a database leak wouldn't expose them.
Your bank password never reaches abda
When you link a bank, Plaid handles the login on their side. abda only receives a token — a key that works for your accounts through abda alone. We never see or store your bank username or password.
What we store
- Your profile (email, name, settings)
- The accounts you link (nickname, balance, account type)
- Your transactions
- Your goals, budgets, and AI answers you save
- Usage logs so we can keep the service running
What we never do
- Never sell your data
- Never share your data with advertisers
- Never move money in or out of your accounts — abda is read-only by design
Who at abda can see my data?
Only a small team of trained engineers can reach production systems, and only when they need to fix an issue or help a customer. Every access is logged.
Is abda SOC 2 certified?
We're not SOC 2 certified yet. We follow best practices for encryption, access control, and backups, and plan to pursue formal certification as we grow.
Can I delete all my data?
Yes. Go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete my account. Your data is wiped from active systems right away, and from backups within 30 days.
What if there's a security issue?
Email security@abda.ai or support@abda.ai with the details. We respond quickly and will tell you what happened if your data is affected.
